Attending Bricks by the Bay

I’m at Bricks by the Bay!

This is the first in-person convention I’ve attended since the COVID-19 pandemic started, and I was very nervous about attending, especially as many people aren’t masking. I’ve been working from home for years, I’m extra cautious about social distancing and masking as my partner that I live with is high risk, and I was a germophobe before it was cool… so this is really edgy for me to show up at a convention! If you’re here and can’t find me, reach out via social media or text me, and we can meet up. I’m spending a lot of time in my room alone.

I am wearing my mask whenever I leave my room and not dining with other people, which is a bummer but I feel it is the only way I can attend and feel safe. I’m also not visiting the convention hall during public hours. I know several people who attended Brickworld in Chicago last weekend that have COVID-19 now, and I am hoping none of them brought it here…

I have a number of models on display at the Art, Pop Culture, and Scale Models (Micropolis) areas, so if you are in the local area please come check those out! Here is what I brought:

Micropolis

Anyway, I do hope we get this virus under better control and I hope to start traveling again to attend more events, maybe next year? In the meantime, everyone please stay well and be careful… and play well!
