This past Saturday April 30th I attended my first meeting of balug since the start of the pandemic. We’ve had plenty of online meetings over Zoom and the club has had at least one other meeting in person before (also outdoors) but this was the first one I have attended.
The meeting was a “tailgate party” held in the parking lot of the Bay Area Family Church in San Leandro, where we’ve historically had a lot of our meetings and events. It was limited to members only and held outside out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was great to see everyone again after so long but also I had a lot of anxiety about the virus even with those precautions. I wore a mask whenever around anyone up close, though not everyone else did. I didn’t have any new creations to show, but I brought some sets to sell, and made enough money to pay for a month of storage locker rent!
Lots of other people did bring some clever models though, and others also were selling stuff or just there to socialize. You can see all the things that were on display in the photos I took at the meeting in my flickr album.
