This year I made another international trip for a LEGO event – this time to Portugal. The Portuguese LEGO Fan Weekend in the town of Paredes de Coura is a unique event and this is the second year they’ve held it. I was so impressed when I read an article on Brickset about last year’s event that I just had to go!

LEGO Fan Weekend 2014, Skærbæk Denmark
As I mentioned in my last post, I attended the 10th and final LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk, Denmark, on September 26-28. I say “final” because it is the last time that it is being run by the LEGO company, but the local LEGO fans will be taking over running it as of next year, so the event will continue. However it was my first time there and I had a great time!
Germany 2001: LEGO at Holger’s
In August 2001, I was sent to Germany on a business trip by my employer. I had posted on the discussion forum on 1000steine.de: “any German LEGO fans want to meet me?”. Pedestrian Bridge
Unlike the rest of my models, this was not built using my own LEGO collection. During a trip to Germany in August 2001, I visited with some German LEGO fans at the home of Holger “HoMa” Matthes in M�nchengladbach, and we built some accessories for their train layout. I built this pedestrian bridge.
