BayLTC Museum Show, December 2004
Last December, BayLUG and BayLTC put on a display at the Museum of American Heritage in Palo Alto, CA. This was our second long-term exhibit, after the one in Pleasanton in June of 2004. Here are pictures taken both during and during tear-down after the show.
I took the pictures taken during the teardown phase while suffering from a terrible fever and flu, so I don’t remember much about it! But the pictures speak for themselves anyway…
Great American Train Show, November 2004
On November 27-28, 2004, we participated in the GATS in Pleasanton for the third time. We won third place again!

Turn out the lights, the party’s over…
Sunday, July 11 was the last day of our month-long display at the Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society and Museum. After the museum closed at 4pm, we took down the “sneeze guards” and table skirts for a photo shoot, culminating in a group photo.

For the penultimate weekend of our month-long display at the Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society and Museum, we put together a 4th of July Parade. Only problem is, the museum is closed on the 4th. However, I took these pictures on the 3rd:

Great American Train Show, February 2004
On February 28-29, 2004, we returned to the site of our first GATS, the Cow Palace near San Francisco. We got a third place ribbon.

Articulated light rail vehicle
This is my second LEGO train model, a modern light rail vehicle (LRV). It is inspired loosely by the new vehicles that have recently entered service for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in Santa Clara County, CA. Like the VTA LRV’s, it has three sections, with the middle one having a wheelset fixed to it, and has a “low floor” design, so that there are no steps to climb from the platform. This gives easy access to those in wheelchairs, with strollers, or with other limited mobility.

4-4-0 “American”
This is my first ever LEGO locomotive model and I’m very pleased with the result. It is a 4-4-0 (4 leading wheels, 4 driving wheels, and 0 wheels under the cab) “American” classic steam engine uses the old LEGO wheels from the “maxifig” era. It can be pushed on straight track, but any curves or switches derail it instantly. Yellow represents brass.
Pedestrian Bridge
Unlike the rest of my models, this was not built using my own LEGO collection. During a trip to Germany in August 2001, I visited with some German LEGO fans at the home of Holger “HoMa” Matthes in M�nchengladbach, and we built some accessories for their train layout. I built this pedestrian bridge.
