I’ve been going to Maker Faire since the very first one in 2006. My club BayLUG has had a large exhibit there every year since the first one. I’m going to be there again this year, and hope you can come and say hi. In honor of the 20th anniversary, here’s my newest model, Makey the robot:
Makey the robot has been the mascot of Maker Faire since 2012. This is my interpretation in LEGO, built for the 20 year anniversary Maker Faire Bay Area event, September 25-27, 2026.
Since 2012 Makey has served as the mascot for Maker Faire and Make Magazine. You’ll see lots of versions of Makey on display at Maker Faire, both from the event organizers and from individual makers who build their own interpretation. This one’s my version.
