January BayLUG meeting

Each year for the past several years, Bay Area LEGO Users’ Group has been invited to hold a meeting at the home of one of our members, Dave Porter, at his house in Woodside, CA. He has a huge LEGO display in his house every year, and we get to see it in person before he takes it down each February.

At the meeting we had a lot of people bring their latest models for display, bulk LEGO shopping in Dave’s home office, and of course viewing of Dave’s home layout (pictured above). We also held a business meeting to plan for the Bricks by the Bay LEGO convention which we are organizing for April 2010.

  1. I’m so jealous you guys have such extensive conventions, its seems that over here in the UK, there’s hardly any, we’re running behind the states in terms of Lego enthusiasm. :(

  2. Well this wasn’t really a convention – the display you see is just one guy’s extensive collection. We had maybe 30 people at the meeting?

  3. Great balls of fire that’s a huge city/town collection. I wish I could have a lot of sets like that. To bad I was just a kid when most of those sets came out and they’re now like 3x the cost if you can find them. I live in the bay area and I wish I could see that someday.

  4. Wow.. what a display. I am on the mailing list for the user group, but never received an email for this meeting or the recent convention.

  5. Please inform me of any upcoming events. I am a Lego nut. I live in the East Bay and build almost everyday. Can I join your club?

  6. Most of our meetings are open to the public. Hurry over to San Leandro and check out our show at the church there!

As for joining the club, there are application forms on http://www.baylug.org – both online forms and printable versions.
